Free Plastering Course Description.

This unique opportunity is funded by British Gypsum to learn how to correctly skim plaster large areas up to 25sqm in one hit. You will be taught to use all the modern tools and equipment such as speed skims and spatulas. This 30 day course will quickly enable improvers and labourers to start working on site as a skimmer plasterer.

• How to use plastering trowels, tools and equipment.
• Usage and characteristics of different types of plaster.
• Correctly using primers and bonding agents.
• Accessing CSCS cards.
• Types of plasterboard and their uses.
• Skimming using trowels, spatulas and speed skims.
• How to mix plaster correctly.
• Preparing backgrounds.
• How to set up as self employed.
• Site health and Safety.
• Cutting and fixing plasterboard.
• Applying plaster to large areas.

Additionally we will give you all the help and information you will need to start working on site.

Site Skimming Funded Plastering Course

This skimming course is for those who have had some site experience or who are currently working with plasterers and want to advance from labourer to plasterer quickly. You will need to attend Goldtrowel for an interview prior to being accepted onto this course.
